Enjoying reading and understanding the content of texts requires literacy. Many children in deprived areas do not take pleasure in reading texts and encounter comprehension problems because of basic literacy issues. This is more evident in areas where bilingual children live.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This weakness has multiple reasons. The most important of which is the lack of logical and emotional correlation of reading materials and literacy learning to children\u2019s interests. Therefore, they need reading materials that reflect their interests and lives. According to this fundamental need of children and adolescents in deprived areas, \u201cRead with Me\u201d has focused on Basic Literacy improvement with the \u201cCreative Educational Approach through Children\u2019s Literature\u201d as one of its main commitments. We help these children improve their basic literacy through a creative and motivational method. And help them enjoy reading literary or informative books, individually or collectively.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Basic Literacy improvement in \u201cRead with Me\u201d begins from early childhood and preschool years based on advanced language teaching principles. It is worth emphasizing that literacy is not a sudden process which could be taught during school years. Literacy learning demands prior periods of development or readiness. In this process, children get to know the structure of the spoken language with phonology as its basis.
