The first Read-Aloud week in Iran has been held on 22-28 January with this motto \u201cRead aloud! Every time! Everywhere!\u201d. The event has been well received by lots of children, parents, teachers, tutors, librarians and many other groups of people who are interested in the children\u2019s literature.<\/p>\n

The Institute for Research on the History of Children\u2019s Literature, regarding its deepest belief in reading aloud as one of the most effective ways of turning children into enthusiastic readers and developing their reading skills, has announced 22-28 January as the read-Aloud week in Iran. In this regard, it has invited all the teachers, tutors, parents and every other one to read aloud for at least 15 minutes daily during this week with their children.<\/p>\n

Twenty-second of January, is the anniversary of Ketabak.org starting its work in the virtual world in the field of reading promotion in Iran. The Read-Aloud week has been started on this day in six different centers all over the country. By the end of the week, more than 200 libraries, institutions, schools and kindergartens have joined this campaign and have sent thousands of pictures and films to the Institutes social networks. In addition to these groups, many parents, teachers and tutors and other individuals has shared their reading aloud experiences with us.<\/p>\n

.Many countries around the world celebrate a read aloud day or week to insist on the importance of reading aloud<\/p>\n

The Institute for Research on the History of Children\u2019s Literature in Iran has implemented the Read with Me project in remote and deprived areas of the country for more than six years. The Project is a reading promotion program for children based on quality books, reading aloud methods and book-related follow-up activities. Based on its experiences during the Read with Me implementation, the institute has initiated the Read-Aloud week in Iran on 22-28 January to remind the importance of reading aloud to teachers and parents.<\/p>\n
