Accordingly, librarians at <a href=\"https:\/\/readwithme.ir\/en\/\/WQIUa\">Gouriyeh Read with Me Library<\/a>, have shared their experience of reading aloud \u201cHow to Heal a Broken Wing\u201d and making a bird nest:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Book Name: <\/strong>How to Heal a Broken Wing \/ Bob Graham<br \/>\n<strong>Date:<\/strong> 13 January 2020<br \/>\n<strong>Age Group: <\/strong>4 \u2013 \u06f5 year-olds<br \/>\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>Gouriyeh, Khouzestan Province<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #f15b40;\">Before Reading Aloud: Dialogue<\/span><\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With International Animal Rights Day approaching, we decided to read-aloud \u201cHow to Heal a Broken Wing\u201d. In the beginning we discussed different types of animals, birds in particular. \u201cDo you like birds? Why?\u201d, I asked.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cBecause they fly\u2026 I like all birds that fly.\u201d, answered Yousef.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI have 10 pigeons at home!\u201d, said Narges.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Then I asked them if they saw any other animals in their neighborhood. They quickly responded: cows, sheep, goats, etc. They started making animal sounds as well!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Omran, who had been quiet all this time suddenly said: \u201cI saw a very very big cow, it was so beautiful!\u201d He had seen a water buffalo! So we talked about buffalos for a while.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-56535\" src=\"https:\/\/readwithme.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/gooriyeh-1398-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/readwithme.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/gooriyeh-1398-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/readwithme.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/gooriyeh-1398-2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #f15b40;\">During Reading Aloud: How to Heal a Broken Wing<\/span><\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">When reading aloud, children were silent and listened to the story. In some parts, they accompanied me in telling the story because they could easily guess the storyline from the illustrations.<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #f15b40;\">After Reading Aloud: Making a Bird Nest<\/span><\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With help from children, we made paper birds. Then Narges asked me which of its wings was broken. Zeinab had put her bird inside a basket and was explaining to others how the boy in the story had taken care of the bird. Hossein asked what pigeons ate. We explained that in winter, food is scarce and we could help birds out by giving them seeds. They were so happy to be able to help.
