\"Teachers<\/a>On 18-19 December 2015 Read with Me<\/strong> advanced workshops were held for 100 teachers from first grade of elementary schools in Khusf, Darmian and Birjand by\u00a0the Institute for Research on the History of Children\u2019s Literature<\/em> with the cooperation of South Khorasan Education Office<\/em> and the financial Support of\u00a0Yavari Cultural Community<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

RWM trainers, Mehri Safai, Soheila Fallahpour, Safoura Zarvan under the supervision of Maryam Akhgari held the “Environment workshop related to books”, “Dictionary of Riddles” and “Marionette” workshops in the second year of this\u00a0project’s implementation in order to improve and develop the teachers and tutors’ skills. Also in the new year RWM<\/strong> basic workshops were held simultaneously for the teachers and tutors who had recently joined the project.<\/p>\n

In Environment Workshops teachers and tutors learned about Environment, Ecosystem, Biodiversity and the importance of its protection and five existing ecosystems in Iran. Children books with the environmental theme and environmental activities related to books were introduced to them.<\/p>\n

RWM tutors in “Dictionary of Riddles Workshop” presented different kinds of Kid Games related to words and Alphabet, pantomime and making riddles so that they can expand Vocabulary Knowledge of children along with playing and reading.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the supplementary workshops teachers and tutors learned how to perform the book “I ran & I ran” for children by string puppets. Also after delivering new books they practiced reading aloud together.<\/p>\n

Since some of trained tutors \u00a0in the project had been transferred from this region to other regions, RWM<\/strong> experts held Read with Me\u00a0<\/strong>basic workshops for tutors who had newly joined the project. These workshops included: “Learning Sounds” and “Learning Alphabet” Workshops, Art Workshops (Dramatic arts related to books) such as making different masks, making hand puppets, designing and making scenes, performing plays upon children books, “Children’s Literature and Quality Books” Workshop and “Story Elements and Reading Aloud” Workshop. They also explained how to use books and handbooks, the correct way of documentation, writing reports and filling Observation Notebooks.<\/p>\n

After the implementation of Read with Me<\/strong> project during past year in 46 elementary schools and preschools in three towns of Birjand, Khusf and Darmian, in academic year of 2015\/16 in these three towns 1750 children in preschools and first grade of elementary schools were covered by the project and more than 2200 books, 660 handbooks and 238000 activity sheets were distributed among these children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
