On 23-24 August 2016, executive managers and education managers of Read with Me<\/strong> projects in different centers accompanying\u00a0Hodhod Books Team<\/em> started book\u00a0packaging in Karaj. These book packages will be sent to preschools and schools covered by Read with Me<\/strong> for implementation of the project in the\u00a0\u06f2\u06f0\u06f1\u06f6-\u06f1\u06f7 academic year.\u00a0Read with Me<\/strong> is a Reading Promotion project for children in low-income families, deprived children and children in crisis. The objective of this project is to make quality books accessible to this group of children and young adults who may not be able to access quality books in the routine of their lives. Before this phase, book experts in\u00a0the Institute for Research on the History of Children\u2019s Literature<\/em> had selected quality books appropriate\u00a0for children age groups on different subjects.<\/span><\/p>\n

On these two days, more than 11000 books were packaged for more than 10000 children in eight centers covered by RWM<\/strong>. By the development of Read with Me<\/strong> in the coming year, children and schools in Iranshahr, Chahbahar, Sistan (Zabol and nomad schools around Zahedan), Konarak and Nikshahr in Sistan and Balouchestan province, Kouhdasht in Lorestan province, Ghasr-e-Shirin in Kermanshah province and Mazar-i-Sharif in\u00a0Afghanistan will be covered by this project.<\/p>\n

\"Book<\/a><\/p>\n

After sending the book packages to centers, teachers and tutors will participate in RWM<\/strong> workshops which will be held by\u00a0IRHCL<\/em> experts and they will learn Reading Aloud principles, book-related art activities and how to have conversations about books. Then by the implementation of RWM<\/strong> project in their classes, these teachers and tutors share books with children and young adults,\u00a0let them benefit from joy and pleasure of reading and motivate the\u00a0Aesthetic emotions in them.<\/span><\/p>\n

During 5 years of RWM<\/strong> implementation, about 25000 children, including\u00a0boys and girls from 4 to 16 years old have been covered by the project and have benefited its advantages. Also, about 1000 tutors, teachers, and volunteers have been trained in RWM workshops and about 40 thousand quality books have been selected, prepared and sent to centers and libraries covered by Read with Me<\/strong> along with activity sheets and handbooks.<\/p>\n
